Friends of Hill Forest

Rougemont Ruritan has been an active supporter of Friends of Hill Forest for many years.
Several of our members are very active in the Friends of Hill Forest.

The Forest & Its Friends:

The 2,450 acre G.W. Hill Demonstration Forest, located in
northern Durham County, NC, is a teaching forest held by
North Carolina State University (NCSU) for the primary
purpose of educating students of forestry within the
College of Natural Resources.

The forest's operations are funded by logging
revenues and recreational users' fees.

          Note: The Friends of Hill Forest are chiefly responsible for keeping the
          forest available to the residents of this area ... thank them - support them.
          The forest is a priceless asset.

For every $100 spent in
locally owned independent
stores, $68 returns to the
community through taxes,
payroll, and other expenditures!

When those dollars are
spent in national chains,
only $43 stays here.
